Warm spiced olives


  • Toast the crushed coriander seeds in a dry pan, stirring now and again. Then add ½ cup oil with the chilli flakes, garlic and orange peel, and gently cook for 1-2 mins, continually stirring.
  • Then add the olives to the pan, mix well and cook to just warm through.
  • Strain and serve the olives in a bowl with the garlic oil and good crusty bread on the side.


  • 1 tbsp coriander seeds, lightly crushed

  • 1 tspn chilli flakes
  • 2 plump garlic cloves, very finely sliced
  • a few strips orange peel
  • 2 cups mixed unpitted olives
