Chocolate fruit balls

  • Mix together the orange zest with the chopped sultanas and raisins, 100 gm grated chocolate and the dried apricots and figs.
  • Then roll the mixture into balls, with wet hands, place on a baking tray and refrigerate overnight.
  • When ready, gently melt the remaining chocolate with the butter until smooth over a double boiler, continually stirring.
  • Then carefully dip the fruit balls into the chocolate mixture, one at a time, and place them on a foil lined tray. Spoon a little more chocolate on top of each one and set aside to cool.
  • nb.  A splash of Grand Marnier could be added to the melted chocolate, if you like.
