Salami tarts


  • Preheat oven to 180°C fan forced (200°C normal).
  • Cut the pastry sheet into 4 rounds, a little larger than the salami.
  • Beat together the egg and milk, and brush the pastry edges with egg wash.
  • Then place a piece of salami on each pastry round and top with a dollop of a condiment and a good mound of grated cheese.
  • Place the tarts on a lightly oiled baking sheet and cook in the oven for about 8 mins until the pastry is golden brown and the cheese has melted.


  • 1 frozen puff pastry sheet
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 4 slices salami
  • your favourite condiment, eg. pickles, good tomato sauce, Dijon mustard, pesto, etc.
  • grated tasty cheese (optional)
  • cooking oil spray
