Real tasty cheesy bread

  • Preheat oven to 170°C fan forced (190°C normal).
  • Sift the wholemeal flour with 200 gm plain flour, the caster sugar, salt, bicarb and cream of tartar into a large bowl. Combine and make a well in the centre.
  • Mix together the milk and melted butter in another bowl. Then pour into the flour and stir with a wooden spoon to form a soft dough.
  • Add the roasted capsicum and 150 gm tasty cheese. Roughly mix (being careful not to over mix) and then divide the dough into 4-6 pieces on a lightly floured workbench.
  • Place the dough on 1-2 lightly floured baking trays (leaving space between each mound) and scatter some more cheese on top. Then cook in the oven for about 20-30 mins until risen a little and golden brown.
  • Serve warm with good butter on the side.
