Beef & oyster sauce lettuce rolls

Method

  • Combine the peanut oil, garlic and spring onions in a large bowl and cook in the microwave on high for 1 min. 
  • Add the sliced beef, oyster sauce, soy and brown sugar. Toss well, cover with plastic wrap and cook in the microwave on high for 1 min. Then stir and cook for another minute or two, until the beef is cooked. Taste for seasoning. 
  • To serve, place the lettuce rounds on individual plates and mound the beef on the side. Then wrap up and enjoy!

  • 1 tbsp peanut oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2 spring (green) onions, finely chopped
  • 450 gm lean beef, trimmed of all fat & sinew, sliced into 5 mm strips
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • inner leaves of 1 iceberg lettuce, cut into rounds
