Italian sweet & sour onions


  • Preheat oven to 170°-180°C.
  • Place the onions in a baking dish and sprinkle with oil, balsamic, sugar and seasoning. Then cook in the oven for about 1 hour, until the onions are tender, keeping an eye on them and turning if needed.
  • Serve with any juices poured over the top with a sprinkling of parsley as an accompaniment.


  • 30 baby onions, peeled

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • freshly ground salt & pepper
  • chopped parsley
