Sticky honey & lemon chicken


  • Preheat oven to 180°C fan forced (200°C normal).
  • Heat the butter, honey, soy, garlic and lemon juice in a small pot to combine.
  • Place the chicken pieces and potatoes in a baking dish in one layer. Pour the butter mixture over the top, season and toss well.
  • Then cook the chicken and potatoes in the lower part of the oven for about 45-50 mins until glazed, adding a little stock to the bottom of the pan if needed.
  • Serve with a simple green salad or green vegies on the side.


  • 50 gm butter
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • juice of 2 lemons
  • 1 whole chicken, portioned
  • 6-8 chats (baby potatoes), scrubbed well & quartered
  • sea salt & freshly ground pepper
  • chicken stock
