Party burgers

Method

  • Heat a little oil in a heavy-bottomed, non-stick pan and gently saute the onions until well coloured.
  • Then mix ¼ of the sautéed onions with the mince, Worcestershire, a good slurp of tomato sauce, the eggs and seasonings until well combined.
  • Then form the mixture into patties, using pastry cutters if you like, and cook on a preheated, lightly oiled flat grill until browned.
  • Arrange the remaining sautéed onions, the cheese, pineapple, beetroot, tomato and lettuce in individual bowls. Then get everyone to put together their own burgers with the patties, burger buns, fillings and condiments.
  • Serve with plenty of serviettes!

  • a good slurp of Worcestershire sauce
  • tomato sauce (or chutney)
  • 2 eggs
  • sea salt & freshly ground pepper
  • olive oil spray
  • grated tasty cheese
  • pineapple slices
  • beetroot slices
  • sliced tomato
  • shredded lettuce
  • mayonnaise
  • mustard
  • about 24 small burger buns
