Pork chops slathered with BBQ sauce


  • To make the BBQ sauce, heat a little oil in a heavy-bottomed pan and gently saute the onion and garlic until softish. Then add the lemon zest and juice of ½ lemon with the ketchup, soy, honey, brown sugar, sambel and seasonings. Mix well and briefly cook, adding more lemon juice if needed. Taste for seasoning.
  • Place the chops in a baking tray, generously brush with the BBQ sauce and cook in the oven for about 6 mins. Then turn the chops over, top with a little more sauce and cook for about another 6 mins, adding a little water to the pan if needed.
  • Serve with your favourite vegie dish on the side.

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • a good slurp of honey
  • about 1 tbsp brown sugar

  • sea salt & freshly ground pepper
  • 4 x 250 gm pork loin chops
