Roasted pears with blue cheese

Method

  • Preheat oven to 140°C fan forced (160°C normal).
  • Remove the cores from the pear bases and place on a lightly oiled baking tray. Then spray with a little oil and cook in the oven for about 12-15 mins until tender. Remove and set aside to cool a little.
  • Combine the cheese and cream. Put in a piping bag and n the stuff the pears with the filling.
  • Serve the pears, warm or cold, on a bed of curly endive dressed with oil and balsamic to taste as a starter or an interesting dessert.

  • 4 firmish brown pears
  • olive oil spray
  • 1 cup soft blue cheese, mashed
  • a slurp of cream
  • 1 good handful curly endive
  • olive oil
  • balsamic vinegar
