Baked pork chops with apples


  • Preheat oven to 150°C fan forced (170°C normal).
  • Arrange the apple slices in the base of an oven dish. Then sprinkle the sugar, cinnamon and stock over and lay the pork chops on top. Season and place the knobs of butter on top. 
  • Tightly cover the dish with kitchen foil and cook in the oven for about 30-40 mins. Then remove the foil and cook for another 15-20 mins, adding a little more stock if needed.
  • Serve with mash on the side.


  • 4 Granny Smith apples, cored & sliced
  • 1 heaped tbsp sugar
  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup chicken stock
  • 4 fairly thick pork chops
  • sea salt & freshly ground pepper
  • a few knobs of butter
