Beer & cheese fondue


  • Combine the cheeses and flour. Set aside.
  • Then bring the beer and garlic to the boil in a fondue pot (or small heavy-bottomed pot). Reduce the heat to a simmer and add the cheese mixture in handfuls, continually stirring. Add the Worcestershire, Tabasco and mustard. Mix until incorporated. Then taste for seasoning.
  • Serve the fondue with the cubed sausages, steak and bread alongside.


  • 2½ cups grated extra tasty cheese
  • 1½ cups grated Gruyere cheese
  • 1 heaped tbsp plain flour
  • 250 ml beer
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • a few splashes of Worcestershire sauce
  • a few splashes of Tabasco
  • 2 heaped tspn Dijon mustard
  • grilled sausages, cubed
  • grilled steak, cubed
  • cubed sourdough bread
