A gratin of brussel sprouts

Method

  • Preheat oven to 200°C fan forced (220°C normal).
  • Place the brussel sprouts in a gratin dish (or casserole), season well and pour the melted butter over the top. Then toss well and cook in the oven for about 25-30 mins until they are reasonably tender tossing now and again.
  • Scatter the cheese on top with a little cream and cook in the oven for about 10 mins until golden and bubbling.
  • Serve as an accompaniment with your favourite simple meat or 'steaky' fish dish.

  • 1 kg brussel sprouts, trimmed & halved lengthways
  • sea salt & freshly ground pepper
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • grated tasty cheese cream
