Oat baps

Method

  • Preheat oven to 190°C.
  • Place 200 gm rolled oats, the flour, sea salt and bicarb in a processor and whiz up until coarsely mixed.
  • Then slowly pour the milk and lemon juice through the feeder tube and mix to form a soft, but not sticky, dough.
  • Place some rolled oats on a workbench, spoon out the dough and sprinkle with some more oats with a little more flour, if needed. Then form into a round loaf, place on a baking tray, score into 8 and cook in the oven for about 20 mins until firm and lightly brown on the base.
  • Allow to cool on a rack before serving warm with good butter on the side.

  • 1 tspn bicarb of soda
  • 400 ml milk
  • 2 tspn fresh lemon juice
