Muffin melts


  • Preheat overhead grill to the highest degree.
  • Heat the butter and oil in a large pan and cook the bacon until just crispy. Then add the Golden Syrup and toss to coat well, before removing the bacon and cut in half.
  • Place the muffin halves, cut side up, on an oven tray. Then top with the bacon and tasty cheese, and grill until golden brown. 
  • Pour a little of the bacon cooking syrup on top and serve on individual plates.


  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 4 rindless bacon rashers
  • a good splash of Golden Syrup
  • 4 English muffins, halved
  • 2 handfuls grated tasty cheese
