Sweet 'n' spicy drumsticks


  • Preheat oven to 180°C.
  • Combine the hoisin, soy, honey, ginger and garlic in a large bowl. Add the chicken and toss well.
  • Then put a sheet of baking paper on 1-2 baking trays and place the drumsticks on top (in one layer), skin side up. Spoon a little sauce over the top and cook in the oven for about 20-30 mins until cooked through, turning once.
  • Heat the oil in a wok (or large non-stick pan) and briefly toss the snowpeas until tender.
  • Mound the snowpeas on individual plates, top with the chicken, cooking juices and spring onion, if you like, and serve with steamed or fried rice on the side.

  • ½ cup honey
  • 1 tspn grated fresh ginger
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 12 chicken drumsticks
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 16-20 snowpeas, topped & tailed
  • 2-3 spring (green) onions, finely sliced on diagonal (optional)
