Spiced minute steak with a chickpea salad


  • Lightly spray a little oil in a wok (or large non-stick pan) and gently saute the bacon, celery and onion until tender. Add the juice of 1 lemon, the chickpeas, thyme and seasonings. Toss and cook for 2-3 mins. Taste for seasoning and set aside.
  • Lightly sprinkle the steaks with the spice mix and set aside. 
  • Then spray the steaks with oil and cook to the desired degree on a lightly oiled ridged grill (or BBQ).
  • Spoon the salad onto individual plates, place the steaks on top and serve with a lemon wedge on the side.

  • 2 cans chickpeas, drained well & rinsed
  • leaves from 2 thyme sprigs
