Steak salad with horseradish yoghurt


  • Mix together the yoghurt, horseradish, garlic, lemon juice and 1-2 tbsp snipped chives. Taste for seasoning.
  • Then spray a preheated BBQ (or ridged grill) with a little oil and cook the beef to the desired degree, seasoning after sealed.
  • To serve, arrange the tomatoes on individual plates and top with the cucumber and then the onion. Spray with a little oil, top with sliced steak and sprinkle with the horseradish yoghurt and more chives.


  • ½ cup low fat plain yoghurt
  • 1 tbsp creamed horseradish
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • juice of ½ lemon
  • 2-3 tbsp snipped chives
  • olive oil spray
  • 400 gm fillet of beef, well trimmed & cut into thick slices
  • sea salt & freshly ground pepper
  • 4 ripe red tomatoes, finely sliced
  • ½-1 continental (telegraph) cucumber, finely sliced on the diagonal
  • 1 red onion, finely sliced
