Ham steaks with witloof


  • Heat the oil in a large non-stick pan and cook the seasoned witloof for 3-4 mins until slightly browned, continually tossing. Move the witloof to the side and cook the ham until coloured, adding more oil if needed.
  • Then pour in the pineapple juice and stock, cover, turn the heat down and very gently cook until the witloof is tender.
  • To serve, place a ham steak on individual plates, top with the witloof and sprinkle sauce around and over with parsley.

  • 4 ham steaks
  • ½ cup pineapple juice
  • ¼ cup chicken stock
  • freshly chopped parsley
